cristina toro's part two exhibition, The More She Saw - The Less She Spoke, just ended at little cakes gallery. cristina's paintings are amazingly detailed. taking note from indian miniatures, these large paintings are narrative and considered, every corner, and every nook and cranny of the painting surface. the perspective is quite flat, rather narrow, as in old religious paitnings; the objects and animals sit on top of each other, creating a visual compactness that actually reads rather volumous.
certainly check out hanna's apartment gallery shows, she's on east sixth.
